|18 weeks pregnant, second pregnancy|
Here I am, 18 weeks pregnant, at my friend Angela's wedding. There's always a time and a place for showing off one's "bump," and the wedding proved successful. I felt really good at 18 weeks -- no nausea, no back aches, a little energy restored, ah the second trimester!
Now I'm 20 weeks pregnant and it's amazing what two weeks can do to you. First of all, Halloween passed. I ate candy, lots of candy. And brownies. I just polished off chocolate pudding. I feel oafish. I'm contemplating going into the hiding stage -- that's when you refuse to have your picture taken and keep public appearances at a minimum. I'll try to push through until Thanksgiving, but there's going to come a time when I just want to wear "comfort clothes," sit on the couch, and get all pouty about my back. I've been walking a lot and my projected weight gain is 35 lbs at 40 weeks (I keep track and refer to a pregnancy weight tracker application). I was hoping to only gain 25 pounds with this pregnancy, but 35 pounds is still considered good. We'll see. The holidays will be tough. I'm already lined up to have two Thanksgivings!
